TRONY’S NON-CRYSTAL SILICON PHOTOVOLTAIC COMPONENT PASSES KOREAN N&R ENERGY RENEWABLE CERTIFICATION

On January 21, 2010, the TSP-80 non-crystal silicon photovoltaic component produced by Trony passed Korean N&R Energy Renewable Certification. With this certification granted, Trony will gain access to a much wider overseas market.

The certification carried out by the Renewable Energy Center under the Korea Energy Management Corporation (KEMCO) includes the following processes: certification and assessment based on the certification standards; certification and assessment on candidate’s capability in production or manufacturing, quality control and maintenance management; tests on equipments and testing report issued by testing institutions; issuance of certificate for compliance with the certification standard, and maintenance management for the certified equipments. The Renewable Energy Center is an organization set up by the Korean government with the aim to build a low-carbon society and lead the green development by working with the Korean people.

The function tests, which were done by the Korean Tests Laboratory (KTL), included the function tests identical to the standards for equipment tests and issuance of testing report if the results have met the standard. KTL was established in 1966 as a testing and assessment body aiming at increasing the industrial technology level through providing testing and assessment support, and is an institution to cooperate and exchange with other testing and certification institutions of the advanced countries on behalf of the Republic of Korea. To improve the certification system for the domestic industries of Korea and with the increasing importance of the systems in ensuring the consumer safety and environment protection, KTL is now providing support throughout the whole process from product R&D to certification, to adapt to the situation and help improve the corporate technical strength for maintaining their competitiveness.

KTL has set up offices in Guangzhou and Shanghai to provide high-quality services for the Chinese companies by helping them to increase exports to Korea and achieve business growth. It has signed MOU with 67 testing and certification institutions of 35 countries by which it can further help the clients to pass certifications and solve their problems of non-tariff technical barriers. Supports are also offered in safety and quality certification, plant assessment, information and technical training for obtaining the overseas certifications.
